I think I'll purposely download the new album. Just to piss off Lars.

I think I'll purposely download the new album. Just to piss off Lars. Well I definitely am. I don't trust them anymore, even if it did get 5/5 in Kerrang. If it is good then they will get my money.

It is not bad. Definetely a step up from St. Anger (what isn't a step up from St. Anger anyway?). I d/l it and I'm proud I did. I wasn't going to buy it and have a chance I wasted my money. However after one listen I can say it is a pretty solid release. It is nothing great, but it is good, or at least, enjoyable.
It might be too long at times though.

I listened to the first two songs and got bored. They are just too damn long with no variety. I only llistened to them once and not listened to anything else yet. I need to burn it to disc and play it my car to give it a better chance. If it grows on me, then I'll buy it but as of right now, they are not getting my money.

Yep, All Nightmare Long is one of the best tracks.
Synth this is an album worth persevering with as it gets better with each listen. I didn't think there was a lot of variety at first, but actually there is. Kirk's solos are not so imaginative, but there are some great riffs and time changes in the songs.
The only song that really sucks is Unforgiven III.

I've listened the first two or three songs...the most of the songs of the new album are a bit too long imo! Well, the album is not bad but also not good...

METALLICA is among nine nominees announced on Monday vying for five spots in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
According to Reuters, artists become eligible for the Hall of Fame 25 years after the release of their first single or album and are represented in an exhibition at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum in Cleveland, Ohio.
More than 500 music industry professionals will choose five of the nominees for the 24th annual induction on April 4 in Cleveland. The inductees will be announced in January.
Commented METALLICA: "We're honored to be among the nine nominees being considered for induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame . . . has it really been 25 years since our first record came out? Yeah, that's the criteria to be nominated and we're keeping company this year with JEFF BECK, CHIC, WANDA JACKSON, LITTLE ANTHONY AND THE IMPERIALS, RUN D.M.C., THE STOOGES, WAR and BOBBY WOMACK. Of course we don't know yet if we're really in... The official inductees for this year are not announced until January 2009."

I think it is a good album overall. Nothing groundbreaking, but good. The track I skip all the time is My Apocalypse... Really awful. All Nightmare Long is great and so is End Of The Line.

I remember their the movie that came out close to St. Anger. Shows a lack of friendship amongst band members but they're still pioneers nonetheless.
