Cage is an American heavy metal band from San Diego, California. In 1999 Cage won the rock hard best-unsigned band contest in competition with 600 other bands and were rewarded with the possibility to play at the DYNAMO festival the same year. They then signed their first record deal immediately after their ripping performance in front of an estimated 8,000 at the 1999 DYNAMO Open Air festival. After a brilliant performance there they were selected to play the prestigious WACKEN Open Air Festival in Germany and the metal dayz Open Air Fes-tival in Switzerland. CAGE was able to hone their live skills in front of huge crowds on a consistent basis by opening for Iron Maiden, Dio, Judas Priest, Dokken, etc. "Darker Than Black” was hailed as an instant classic by many of the metal industry leading magazines and webzines and finished in the #1 position on the HEAVY Soundcheck chart list. The concept story of “HELL DESTROYER” travels through time from the Crucifixion up to a modern day New World Order, to a demonic invasion of the earth and finally the resurrection of the Metal Devil himself 100 years after the end of the world! This massive epic is 75 minutes of relentless head banging with the soon to be classics that only CAGE can deliver with an extended illustrated booklet. Taken from Wikipedia. I listened to Hell Destroyer a while ago, and I'm still in love of that album. I think the band deserves more attention than the one they're getting, cause Hell Destroyer is one of the best albums I have heard in a long time. Awesome band. Hell Destroyer was one of my favorite albums of 2007 and will probably go down as one of my all time favorites. Definately deserves more recognition than it has gotten. Darker Than Black was also an amazing album from Cage. Haven't heard anything else by them yet.

I haven't got a chance to listen to Darker Than Black, but it sounds promising since the reviews are good. I loved the story line in Hell Destroyer. It is awesome and I love it. An all time favourite.

Hell Destroyer is far and away the best thing they've released. The others are all solid but not nearly as good.

I really liked Hell Destroyer, it is a powerful album. I'd be glad if this could inspire more bands to go this way (although they are already taking the spot left by Iced Earth). The overly happy or cheesy glorious power metal genre has made its time. We need more balls.

Yeah... that would be nice. It was a refreshing album with an excellent guitar work and vocals. Drums were really good too. Overall i think it is one of the best albums that aren't yet known to man

CAGE have launched a podcast to track the progress of the writing and recording sessions for the band's new album. In the first podcast episode, singer Sean Peck talks about the musical direction of the new release and the recording process for the new CD. He discusses working with former PSYCHOTIC WALTZ drummer Norm Leggio and a new track can be heard playing in the background. Sean also talks about when the album will be released and other products coming out in 2009.

CAGE have been hard at work on their upcoming DVD/Blu-ray release, which will have cover artwork done by the amazing Marc Sasso of DIO and HALFORD fame. According to the band, "This DVD will be packed with two full-length concerts and many one-off performances as well."
In other news, CAGE has already recorded six songs for the follow-up to 2009's "Science Of Annihilation". However, according to the band, "much more work is ahead" for the group's as-yet-untitled sixth CD, which is tentatively due in early 2011.
